Intcomex Miami successfully completes the South Cone SBS in Argentina

San Carlos de Bariloche, in Argentina, was the scenario of the South Cone Strategic Business Summit in which Intcomex and its partners invited the most outstanding clients of this region with the objective of identifying and generating new business opportunities for the top channels of the Miami subsidiary.

At the Alma del Lago Hotel in Bariloche, on November 16th and 17th, manufacturers and buyers from Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and Bolivia made various trade agreements and enjoyed the breathtaking views of the coast of the Nahuel Huapi Lake.

The first day was the most important activity of South Cone SBS: the exclusive conference on market trends provided by the Director of the Accessory Division, Nicolás Boffi, which opened the event and in which the attendees analyzed the current state of the market and its projections.

This presentation dealt with the 6 fronts of the technology business. The first point tackled was ‘Development vs. Adaptation’, which described the time of adaptation of the consumer against the appearance and development of new technologies.

For a second point, we talked about ‘The technology wave’; where we described the main elements of today’s technology, such as Cloud Computing, 3D printing, virtual reality and the Internet of Things.

For the third and fourth points the participants were instructed on the ‘Identification’ and ‘Prediction’ of business opportunities, respectively. The fifth item of the conversation was ‘Transition’ and lastly, ‘Risk management’, a point in which strategies were discussed in order to identify the right moment of investments or changes for the benefit of businesses.

After these illustrative strategies “face-to-face” meetings were held between manufacturers and the channel in the hotel’s Vento hall.

On the second day, the manufacturers and buyers participating in the Strategic Business Summit performed the business closing and also enjoyed a field day where the guests took horseback rides and performed sports such as cycling and shooting. These activities were designed in order to strengthen the relations between the participants.

Due to its important positioning, the brands of the following manufacturers were present in the South Cone SBS: Intel, Gigabyte, Seagate, Belkin, ADM, Accvent and WD.

Carlos Ruzal, Director of the OEM – Division, said: “We are very pleased with the success of the event. With SBS, we not only seek to commercialize the portfolio of our products, but we also aim to strengthen ties between manufacturers and our main customers.”
